Maitreyi Das on Clubhouse

Bio

I work at the World Bank. Currently I’m the Manager for Global Programs in the Urban, Resilience and Land Global Practice. I oversee an exciting set of initiatives that include the Global Partnership for Results Based Approaches (formerly, GBOPA) and the Tokyo Development Learning Center. We also have strong research and training program. Before this, I was the Bank’s first Global Lead on Social Inclusion - an agenda I’ll always be passionate about.

I studied at St Stephens College in Delhi and taught there as well. Also have a Masters from Harvard and was a MacArthur Fellow at the Harvard Center of Population and Development Studies. I have a PhD in Sociology (Demography) from the University of Maryland.

I was in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and have lived and worked in India, Guyana and the USA.

Not sure what I do in my free time but I love being a daughter, wife, mother and sister. I’m based in Washington DC but try and spend as much time as I can in Jaipur.
