Bio

Ltcdr Bijay Nair (retd) ; a decorated Indian Naval Officer; ultramarathoner ; comrades 2019 finisher; author ; blogger; humorist ; anchor ;poet; motivational speaker ; story teller and a thyroathlete ; started running for life since he joined Indian Navy in 1999 Jan.

He is a decorated Indian Naval Officer and a war veteran . He is decorated with operation vijay (popularly known as Kargil) war medal ; operation prakaram medal. In 1999 was part of Operation Talwaar.

Further was awarded Chief of Naval Staff commendation in 2006 and double commendations in 2003; 2004 by Flag Officer Commanding in Chief in his short span of 10years in Navy.


Currently Serving as Associate Vice President and heading Compliance ; Quality and Audits for one of the National importance prestigious compliance body .

By education he is a Btech (Instrumentation & Controls) ; PG (Marine Specialisation ; Missiles & Weapon Controls) ; double MBA i.e MBA from Prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj and Defense MBA from Narsee Monjee.

He still keeps doing various upgradation courses.

A fitness freak from young days ; things changed in 2008 when he was detected with Hypothyroid. A weight of 107 kgs .

He went back to basics of fauj ; running .

Since then his living mantra became "I Run Therefore I Am" .

What started as a painful 1km run culminated in to mileages ;

A veteran of 06 Ultras ; 18 FMs ; 120 plus Half Marathons; many 10kms. Running has given him new lease of life .

He loves style and is extremely metrosexual;

In 2019 he was part of Indian Comrades Team and finished the gruelling 87kms Up Run in 11.48 hrs .


He believes in sharing his knowledge ; through his blogs and motivational talk . Also is invited for many workshops in corporates ; schools and colleges.

He loves introducing career in defense forces to school and college kids.

Have Run in 14 Countries.

Author of one of the best selling book on inspirational stories on Running #Theyinspire which sold 5000 plus copies.

His 2nd book is a anthology written during lockdown . Titled "Locked in Tales" released in June 2020.

His 3rd Book titled "B.H.A.G.H (Bijay's Hilarious Anecdotes; Gags and Humour)" released in Nov 2020. His 4th and 5th  book is an Anthology . Dare to dream and changed forever.

Like a true fauji ; believes in guts ; grit and glory . Loves old monk .

Is also brand ambassador for top brands and recently Ministry of sports appointed him Fit India Ambassador.
