Women of color are some of the most resilient human beings I know. They are also often the most exhausted (for a number of reasons). When I think about the experiences of my mom, my sister, my aunts and my cousins and the future and long-term sustainable success of our communities, time, money, and other resources must be invested into this particular subset of leaders so that they too can rest, take care of themselves, and continue to create and do the work that helps us all move forward together without sacrificing themselves.
