Les Borsai is a serial entrepreneur and consultant specializing in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry. After ten years managing recording artists, he launched and built successful startups in digital music and cryptocurrency. In 2013, he saw the potential of blockchain technology, and started advising Ripple, one of the largest cryptocurrencies, as an advisor. He was an early investor in the Ethereum pre-sale in 2014, and now provides advisory services to multiple blockchain companies, including RightMesh, YouNow and Backstage Play.
Borsai founded gridMob, an app development company, in Los Angeles in 2008. Under Borsai's direction, gridMob developed and launched iOKi, a social media karaoke app with a storefront where users could purchase additional songs for the app. Thanks to Borsai’s connections in the music industry, the company executed deals with EMI, Sony/ATV, Universal Music Publishing Group, Disney Music Group and Warner/Chappell, and made deals to create artist-specific iOKi packages for Lady Gaga, Jason Derulo, and others. At the time of writing, gridMob apps have surpassed 10 million downloads.
In April 2014, Borsai co-founded Songlily, which uses blockchain to digitize and simplify music licensing, making it easier for record labels to licence their music, and giving game and app developers an intuitive click-through environment to obtain sync licenses for a flat fee. Songlily is built on blockchain technology to guarantee transparency and fairness, and to execute digital payments with minimal friction.
Borsai provides services in the areas of music licencing to Zynga Inc. and Shazam, and consults Giphy and Membran Entertainment Group on business development. He also manages Grammy winner and platinum recording artist Wynonna Judd.
