To Our Military Spouses, Today, we pay tribute to you and all you do to strengthen and inspire our fighting forces, our communities, and our Nation. We extend our personal gratitude for your dedication, service, and sacrifice. Spouses are the backbone of our military community and the silent heroes who embody the strength and perseverance of the Nation. Your unconditional love and strength allow the men and women of our Joint Force to remain mission-focused during deployment and in garrison. Many of you provide this support while pursuing your own career-including in military service-as well as raising families and caring for aging parents. As military spouses know all too well, military life can be full of uncertainty and change. During the last year, this uncertainty was defined by the pandemic, which tested social support networks, challenged careers, imposed restrictions on our daily activities, and created separations for families. Yet through it all, your resilience, courage, and creativity have shone through as you have met these challenges head on. Please know that we are all indebted to you for the sacrifices you make on a daily basis and incredibly proud to serve alongside you. We also remember our Gold Star spouses and spouses who care for our wounded, ill and injured who will always have our utmost respect and admiration.
