As an educator, I am committed to fighting racism in the classroom by being inclusive, promoting the perspective of people of color, valuing the voice of the unheard, and displaying the appearance of people of color in both resources and décor. I am an activist fighting for freedom within education for all my students. My approach to discipline comes from love and restorative practice. I keep my values at the forefront of my classroom. My core values are community, social justice, and integrity. I want to grow students into successful contributors to our world. I teach because there is not enough diversity in educators. I believe students do better when they have representation within their early academic career. I want to normalize that people of color are educated.
