Kunle Aderinokun is a seasoned journalist and proficient online marketer, with special interest in digital marketing, affiliate marketing and e-commerce. Aderinokun, who is Associate Editor at THISDAY Newspapers, was until December 2013, the Group Business Editor of the newspaper.
Prior to his appointment as the Group Business Editor in January 2011, he headed the Business Desk in the Abuja Bureau of the Newspaper and was also in charge of the Energy Beat. Aderinokun covered and reported the Finance and Economy beat for several years. He also reported commerce and industry and aviation beats as well as the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and its agencies.
In the course of his journalism career, he has interviewed top CEOs of institutions in the private and public sectors and has traveled widely. He has attended workshops and conferences in Nigeria and overseas, including the IMF-World Bank meetings, African Development Bank (AfDB) meetings, Asia-Africa Trade and Investment Conference/Tokyo International Conference on African Development (AATIC/TICAD) and Africa Oil Week.
Before Aderinokun’s engagement at THISDAY, where he has been working for 24 years, he had a stint with UBA. He had earlier worked with Wall Street Trust Company Ltd (now WSTC Financial Services Ltd) - a stockbroking, investment and financial services company. While at Wall Street, he was primarily responsible for analysing all the stocks quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) for the purpose of advising investors and prospective investors.
Aderinokun holds a BSc in Mathematics(Pure & Applied) from University of Ilorin. While studying at the university, he cut his teeth in finance at First Marina Trust Ltd. He worked in MIS & Accounts and Treasury departments of the company. He had earlier schooled at Lagos Baptist Academy.
Aderinokun had training in journalism variously at Lagos Business School (now Pan African University) , The World Bank Institute and Standard Bank Group, South Africa and attended workshops organised by CBN, NDIC, SEC, DMO, NAICOM, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, BoI,UNDP and ICRC, among others. An Art and Fintech enthusiast, he also had training and certificates in online marketing, SEO, web design and graphic design.
