Bio

(日本語は以下に) Internationally acclaimed Japanese percussionist, Kumi Masunaga is a REMO artist, drum circle facilitator, Founder of Drum Jam, a multi-national drum company based in Hong Kong.

She has shared the stage with leading change-makers such as Dr. Jane Goodall and David Beckham, among others.

Over the last 20 years, tens of thousands of people have experienced her rhythm-based events through team building, community empowerment, classrooms, wellness retreat and parties.

Kumi lives in south Lantau Island, one of the 260 islands in Hong Kong, near a beach, mountains, waterfalls, and wetland with wild buffaloes. She brings the sounds and essence of nature into her range of inspirational music programmes. She has a perfect pitch and sees sounds in colours.

1990年より香港を拠点として精力的に音楽活動を行う。旺盛な冒険心でアフリカ、アメリカ、アジア諸国へ単独渡航、長期滞在をしながら達人たちへ師事。共に暮らし、肌でリズムや文化を学ぶ。

ジェーン・グドール博士やディビッド・ベッカムなど、社会的シフトのリーダーたちと共にステージに立つほか、DJや様々なアーティストとのコラボも行う。

2001年に香港で「ドラムジャム」を創立後、多国籍パフォーマーのチームと、過去20年に渡り企業研修チーム作りや教育分野、地域コミュニティーの多様なプロジェクトやイベントにおいて、音楽で繋がる楽しさや喜びをこれまでに何万人もの人々と分かち合ってきた。

香港はその面積の40%が国立公園で、260の島があり、そのうち最大のランタオ島の大自然の中に娘と雄猫２匹と暮らす。絶対音感を持ち、音を色で見る。
