Katy Salomon is currently Account Director at boutique PR firm Morahan Arts and Media and uses her experience in public relations, branding, artist management, and as a classically trained cellist to implement strategic press campaigns and media services for the artists and cultural organizations on the MAM roster. With strong relationships in the press, artist management, record label, and presenting facets of the music industry, Katy seeks innovative and comprehensive new ways to tell the stories of creators and connect audiences with the arts they love.
At MAM, Katy has spearheaded media campaigns for recording projects released by artists such as Alarm Will Sound, Anna Clyne, Ash Fure, Catalyst Quartet, Christopher Cerrone, the International Contemporary Ensemble, New York Polyphony, Scott Wollschleger, String Orchestra of Brooklyn, Tesla Quartet, Wet Ink Ensemble, Will Liverman, and many more, including two GRAMMY-winning albums by The Crossing. She has managed the growth of social media platforms for clients such as Pacific Opera Project, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic and led over-arching press campaigns for clients such as American Composers Forum, Sphinx Organization, the Boston Philharmonic's 40th anniversary season, the Richard Tucker Foundation, and many other composers, conductors, ensembles, and presenting organizations. Prior to joining MAM in 2017, Katy held positions at Jensen Artists, 21C Media Group, Kirshbaum and Associates, Lois Cohn PR, and the Valley Entertainment Record Label.
Katy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cello with a Minor in Business from Florida State University, and a Masters of Arts in Music Business from New York University. She lives in Asheville, North Carolina and has recently given lectures on public relations at the University of North Carolina.
