I am the chair of the Bristol BAME network, elected to represent students of colour at a university and SU level
I co-led the formation of the BAME Medical Students Group to increase racial representation in the curriculum at Bristol Medical School, and later the National BAME Medical Schools group to do so nationally. I advocate for refugee and other minority patient groups through policy.
I’m chair of the British Medical Association (BMA) Students Conference nationally, and locally was Students for Global Health Bristol president last year.
Recently I have starting writing musings of how inevitably human medicine really is, under the pename "The Messy Medic" and am getting into journalism with a bye line in the Independent.
A medical student who believes that a doctor's job isn't just to heal the diseases of bodily systems, but to also heal those in the systems around us.
