As president of Sightline and ardent leader within the hospitality world, Kirk Pederson brings over 20 years of dedicated experience in the lodging industry. Working across multiple disciplines in the hospitality space, Kirk delivers a well-rounded, professional perspective that keeps his team, guests, and everyone in between inspired and happy. Spearheading acquisitions, branding, operational development, and strategy, Kirk ensures Sightline constantly redefines hotel management in an innovative, dynamic way that helps bring people—and big ideas—together.
Passionate about the hotel world from a young age, Kirk readily pursued his bachelor’s degree from the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at The University of Nevada Las Vegas. Understanding the importance of adopting a worldly perspective, Kirk studied abroad at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, specifically focusing on European hospitality and food & wine, and also worked for ANA Hotels in Japan.
Kirk’s diverse background in both the public and private sectors has resulted in the direct oversight of over $5 billion of independent and branded hotels & resorts throughout the United States and Mexico. Prior to joining The Chartres Lodging Group and managing its sister affiliate, the former Kokua Hospitality management company, Kirk spearheaded acquisitions and asset management for West Coast and Hawaii lodging investments on behalf of Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, Prime Property Fund, and Morgan Stanley separate accounts. He also spent 10 years in various development and asset management roles with American General Hospitality, MeriStar Hospitality Corp, and Interstate Hotels & Resorts.
In 2016, Kirk assumed the role of president at Kokua Hospitality, transforming it into a pure 3rd-party management company and overseeing all corporate initiatives with a specific focus on growth and owner relations. Towards the end of 2018, he initiated Kokua’s merger with Filament Hospitality—resulting in the intrepid creation of Sightline. Committed to the hospitality industry, Kirk remains an active leader by currently serving on the board of San Francisco Travel Association.
