I am simply enjoying life as Co-editor of The International Handbook of Black Community Mental Health, published by Emerald Press. I am also Consultant Family Therapist for Orri - Specialist Service for eating disorders, and a psychotherapist who is pleased to collaborate with several organisations including Black Minds Matter U.K. Black Minds Matter U.K. is an amazing organisation who since inception in 2020 has had an incredible impact on the black community stepping in the gap of inadequate service provision in black mental health heightened by the pandemic and historical trauma. Over 2000 people reached out for support and remained on the waiting list while finance was crowdfunded and black therapists were sought to address mental health needs. I was pleased to join as a practising psychotherapist committed to reducing mental health trauma and the waiting list. With that in hand, now the long term support to ensure that BMM U.K. can last another year and continue to provide free mental health resources to Black people in the U.K is at hand. To help them do this, they’re looking for monthly donors, who are willing to donate £5 per month as part of their fundraising campaign - the #BMMUK21K Donor challenge.
