Ken Taylor is a strategist, author, and entrepreneur. Ken is recognized and sought after all over the country for his dynamic keynotes as well as his effective communication and political strategy. In 2015, Ken founded Kingmaker Strategies, one of the top strategic communications firms in the country. Currently, he is the leading voice for Ken Taylor Speaks, a catalyzing resource for community empowerment.
In addition to his work with Kingmaker, Ken serves as the Chief of Staff for the Memphis Education Fund and former Communications Director to Rep. Camper, the Minority Leader of the State of TN.
In addition to his current roles, Ken is a veteran of several local, state, and national campaigns all over the United States. Ken has served as the Executive Director of the Beale Street Merchants Association. Beale Street was acclaimed as the most iconic street in America by the USA Today and is the number one tourist attraction in the State of Tennessee. As Executive Director, Ken led the efforts to improve and promote Beale Street and to educate residents about one of the most iconic streets in the world.
Ken’s tenure also boasts positions working with Wellstone Action Network and Service Employees International Union in addition to serving as the Head of Operations at Soulsville Charter School, the State Training and Education Manager for Progressive Majority Washington, and the Faith Outreach Coordinator for Working Washington.
Ken has been fortunate to receive several honors for his dedication and work to the community. Ken is a graduate of the Leadership Memphis Executive Program, was recognized as 40 under 40 of Memphis Urban Elite, and he received the honor of Big Brother of the Year, among countless others. During his collegiate career, Ken served as the Governor of Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL), and his work as Governor was honored by the Tennessee General Assembly.
Ken’s passion for the community continues to fuel him to improve his work daily. When he isn’t at work, Ken enjoys taking his German Shepherd, Senator, to the park near his home in Harbor Town, Memphis.
