Bio

I am a visual and sound artist who builds circuits that are life-like. My work combines electronics with collage, printmaking, and sculpture to transmute static artifacts into kinetic art. Using only hardware (no code), my circuits generate vibrating signals that you can experience as birdsong, musical insects, and spiritual apparitions. Electrical engineering is central to my belief that machine intelligence derives from physical components a priori to software. In other words, consciousness arises from the whole body, not thought constructs alone. I aim to foster radical empathy for the myriad forms of intelligent life connected in Earth’s ecological circuit. I am a graduate of Yale and the MIT Media Laboratory with representation by Ronald Feldman Fine Arts.
