Bio

Dr. Keisha Wizzart, who pens under the pseudonym Keisha Starr, is narrating her own destiny by using her God giving talent of creative writing to entertain and reframe the perception of urban fiction one book at a time. Born and raised in a family of musicians and writers, Keisha Starr’s early exposure to the arts inspired her to embark on her own literary and musical journey. She began penning songs, short stories, stage plays, and poems at an early age, making her a published author by the age of 13. By the age of 21, she stepped into the studio to write and record her first CD, “True Confessions, which created a buzz throughout the DMV area. Her edgy, yet sultrily style of writing not only had various local artists reaching out to her for ghostwriting services and features, but also caught the attention of A&R executives from major record labels such as Island Def Jam and Universal Records, who contacted her to purchase songs. 
                 
          Keisha Starr continues to ghostwrite for several recording artists and has since added “Doctor,” “Bestselling Author,” and “Publisher” to her list of credentials. In 2011, her story “Dying to be a Star" was published under Nikki Turner’s Street Chronicles: A Woman’s Work and made it to the New York Times Bestseller’s List. In 2014, she launched her own publishing company, ExSTARdinary Publishing and co-published an anthology, Diary of a Boss Chic, featuring her short “V-Power.” Her most recent releases, “Jamaican Me Go Crazy,” published in 2018 and “Jamaican Me Go Crazy 2,” published in 2020, has officially solidified her as a credible force in the literary game.

         With a PhD in Human Services, specializing in Couples & Family Counseling Systems, a certification in expressive writing, and in depth experiences as an author and book publisher, Keisha Starr has officially launched an expressive writing organization called, “Write 4 My Soul,” which offers one-on-one expressive writing facilitation, creative writing workshops, and an online course that teaches the therapeutic benefits of narrative and gives step-by-instructions on how to write and self-publish fiction and creative nonfiction books. Whether it’s the Dean’s or Bestseller’s List, Dr. Wizzart aka Author Keisha Starr’s name will be listed amongst the greats, because as she explains, “A STAR was Born… Not Created!”
