Hey! My name is Katherine but I go by Kat. I am an artist, program director, special education teacher amongst many other things.
I enjoy traveling, good foods and spending time with my family and friends.
Something I am excited to share with you all is a non-profit my sister and I started about a year ago. Check out a brief blurb about me and my role in Time Of Butterflies below!
“Operations Director and Founder
Kat Bonilla, along with her sister Giselle Bonilla founded Time Of Butterflies with an aim to provide a space for survivors of abuse, in which they would feel supported. Kat Bonilla obtained her masters in Elementary Education and Special education with a Sheltered English Immersion from Wheelock College. She specializes in Early Childhood Intervention. She is currently a Special Education Instructor who also serves as a Case Manager for the District of Columbia Public Schools.”
What do we do at TOB?
We bring awareness to communities in regard to domestic violence, sexual assault, and emotional abuse.
We curate workshops that focus on educating, and providing resources.
We provide support and knowledge to survivors, and families in order to heal.
Survivors of abuse are often left in the dark, and it is difficult for them to share their stories, heal and reach their full potential to be self-sufficient. Our workshops focus on accomplishing one main goal; that individuals from these communities can strengthen their adaptive and life skills, which has been affected by their trauma.
We are supporting survivors in creating a path for healing.
Our mission!
Time Of Butterflies represents the power of making changes together worldwide by healing and supporting each other.
