Karlesha “StorI” Smith is a multi-talented award-winning and multifaceted industry expert who is at the fulcrum of an evolving music scene. Karlesha is a very different and uniquely wired personality who isn’t afraid to break the rules and push the boundaries of perception with her creative ideas and forward-thinking personality. Born in Williamsburg Virginia and raised in Xenia Ohio, Karlesha has been based in Baltimore, MD for since 2001. She has a drive, a focus, and a tenacity that will lead her to become a relentless and unstoppable force among artists and entrepreneurs in the independent circuit.
Karlesha grew up as a musically inclined child. She spent over 12 years playing the alto saxophone and even attended Morgan State University in 2005 on a scholarship as a Music Major. However, she later decided to change her career path and venture into the hospitality industry. She draws inspiration from her mother and her two sons 5 and 8.  She is always molding them to become great human beings. She is also a woman of faith and an avid admirer of Psalms 22:6 which reads “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Love is the key to everything you aspire to do.
Karlesha’s work in the hospitality industry garnered her numerous awards including a Maryland Lodging Association nomination. For over a decade Her role has been to “Connect the dots” with artists and producers. Networking through social media and linking artists to what they need to sharpen their brand. Her talents have often seen her moderating and working in administration for various artists. She has also hosted showcases and connected artists to engineers and studios to work on their projects.
Karlesha overarching ambition is to give people a platform to showcase their art. As the co-host of IconicConversations, a new Virtual Platform, she will be part of an initiative that seeks to provide support to the next generation of "Iconic" musicians and entrepreneurs. Her insight and experience will be invaluable and help to reshape and leave an indelible mark in the industry
