J VAL
Jonathan "J Val" Valdez is a renowned producer, music brand consultant and talent manager with significant influence in the NYC, Latin and global music scenes. He is one of the early pioneers in blending hip-hop artists with global brands. In the early 2000s, he put together collaborations between H&M and Rihanna, Kanye West and super producer Timbaland.
Over the last 20 years, J Val developed and grew his own management and production agencies while working alongside prominent mainstream hip-hop, pop and Latin artists. He has been a key player in the development of many iconic artists including Drake, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Aventura, Wisin y Yandel, Ne-Yo, and Daddy Yankee, to name a few.
J Val comes from a legacy of international talent management. As a teen, he got his start in the music industry at his father’s agency, CIMA Records. This firm worked proactively to bring Latin artists from overseas to promote in an under-saturated American market. Since then he independently created, organized, and promoted his first feature Bachata concert in Miami, Florida, and went on to start his own management company called Crossova Entertainment in 2002.
Throughout J Val’s career he has remained passionate about the blending of Latin music and culture into the popular American music scene. He is currently the co-founder of Renegade Territory and in the last few years has worked with artists including Bad Bunny, Rick Ross, French Montana, Post Malone, Jadakiss and Kevvo, among many others.
