Did you know PTSD is a brain injury, 🧠 not a “disorder”? It is a very normal physical reaction to a very abnormal situation. Did you know there are thousands of people every year dying from PTSD? I may be one of them yet. I’m trying hard not to become a statistic of the brain injury I’m advocating strongly about...

I live with debilitating complexPTSD as a result of 10 years of bullying, sexual harassment and assault at my workplace. My brain detonated and the world I worked so hard to create, completely disintegrated. I was just a normal person like you. Now I’m not.
And the biggest thing I’d like to shout from the rooftop is that PTSD is completely preventable and avoidable. The men who did this to me, I’m sure at least half of them did not realise the long term consequences of their actions, and in fact there have been no consequences to any of what was allowed to happen to me. I remain the only consequence - Following my breakdown came the homelessness, family abandonment, addictions and suicide. Now I’m trying hard to stay alive....So...let’s gather to learn how we can prevent and avoid this malarky happening into the future.
