I have a YouTube channel and am a small time content creator, trying to grow.
I'm a huge music fan. I became disabled in 2020 from an accident. I lost most of the use of my left hand. And then in the Summer of 2022, I started playing drums!
I have become obsessed with playing the drums. It's my new passion in life. I would have never imagined doing it. I can't hold a stick in my hand. I have no feeling, I can move all my fingers, but my thumb and first two fingers have very little strength. Hard to hold a cell phone. My last two fingers work, but not 100%. Not complaining! Just the facts. So I keep my stick in my left hand with a rubber band thing, or something called a "Drummer's Leash".
I have learned a ton about drums since starting. Still I know there is so much I don't know. I mean the drums themselves.
As for playing then, I feel I know nothing. I am only a few months in. Never had a lesson with a person. I did play out once for two songs at an open mic night though. First time I ever played with people, and I front of people.
So I want to find other drummers who want to talk about:
Drums
Drumming
Music theory
And drums and percussion in general. Like:
Cymbals
Hardware
Pedals
Percussion instruments
History of drums
Drum brands/companies
So yeah, everything about drums!
