Bio

John Clarke Russ is a Virginia Beach-based, award-winning editorial and commercial photographer, serving the East Coast U.S. and beyond.

He specializes in people and corporate photography with a style consisting of colorful, energetic and content-mindful imagery.

Over the last 20 years, he has worked at some of the nation's leading newspapers including The Hartford Courant, The Record-Journal and The Bangor Daily News, serving in various capacities, including as a photographer, a videographer and as a visuals department leader. His work has also been published in the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post and Boston Globe, among others. He is a veteran member of the National Press Photographers Association and is the membership chair and board member of American Society of Media Photographers New England region.

Running a client-friendly, service-oriented business, John believes that great creativity and audience engagement often results from teamwork and he values working closely with customers with a particular eye to details. He enjoys this interaction and its public presentation.
