Bio

Jose Nateras is an L.A. based Actor & Writer from Chicago. A screenwriter, playwright, journalist and more, Jose prides himself on his ability to adapt and meet any challenge. 

Some recent acting credits include: First Love is the Revolution (Steep Theatre), Fulfillment Center (A Red Orchid Theatre), Frankenstein (Remy Bumppo), among others. He's appeared on NBC's Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D., Fox's Proven Innocent, The Chi on Showtime, and elsewhere. 

Jose is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago, has his MFA in Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), and is also a freelance journalist, a published novelist, and screenwriter/playwright. One of his feature length screenplays, "Zero Feet Away" was recently a finalist in both the NOLA Horror Film Festival’s screenwriting competition and the Lit Scares International Horror Festival while another, "Departing Seniors" is a semi-finalist for The Epiphany Project from Mass Epiphany Studios, an official selection for the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival, and is currently in pre-production. His debut novel TESTAMENT was published by Ninestar Press in December 2019/January2020.

His work tends to apply his experience as a Gay, Mexican American, Person of Color to the horror genre, while bringing in the humor and wit of influences such as Jordan Peele, Diablo Cody, Wes Craven, and more.
