I began my career as a newspaper reporter with the St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times), Florida’s largest-circulation daily. After a brief stop at a news-and-arts weekly in Miami, I moved – although I like to think of it as “ascended” – to Maine, where I spent about 13 years writing for that state’s largest-circulation newspaper.

I have written for Variety and other publications, sold scripts, edited books, cofounded an online auction house, written essays, been a talking head on national television, designed corporate media strategies, and officiated at a wedding.

I live in West Hollywood, enjoy coffee, and have a fear of sauces.
