Jo Maloney is an award-winning PR & communications expert, with almost 20 years experience of working both sides of the media. She initially started in hospital and local radio and then briefly worked at ITV and has written for many lifestyle magazines. She progressed her career whilst working in government and public sector communication teams, Jo worked on some very high profile national cases and crises and she was soon elevated to management level and became a senior leader at the age of 25.
However, this quick succession to management and being the youngest sat at the boardroom table, brought with it some limiting beliefs that Jo had to tackle head on. She has recently started to bravely shares her own story of having imposter syndrome and anxiety and talks about how working through this with a life coach changed her outlook and attitude, not only towards her own future - both personally and professional, but also how she looked and saw herself and her own worth. In the last couple of years she has featured in the media talking about her own mental health journey on platforms such as; BBC, Metro and HuffPost and has also been invited to share her story and advice on stages in high profile businesses and government sectors across the UK.
A few years ago, she embarked on her own business journey combining coaching, communications and PR. Jo is now part of the management team at Chocolate PR and is also a Life & PR Coach, supporting females on confidence, attitudes of gratitude and self worth. Supportive yet assertive her approach ensures women feel empowered to achieve their goals, whilst still being true to themselves and their values.
Being able to blend her PR skills with her coaching skills means clients get the best of both worlds and are supported in overcoming any limiting beliefs they may need to overcome, when it comes to getting visible and sharing their story on media platforms.
