Bio

I am first and foremost a husband to the most wonderful woman, a father to nine beautiful children, and a grandfather. Other than that I am not easy to define. I guess you could say I am complex. I have lived a very storied life. I consider myself very spiritual but refuse to attach myself to any religion, even though I have a deep and abiding faith in God. I feel a strong pull to participate in pulling humanity back from the brink and helping prevent the cataclysm that seems to always be around the next corner. I do not consider myself a great man, but I am honest, faithful, loyal, steadfast and determined. I have seen life and the world from many perspectives and I know things are more complicated than we want them to be. I am always reading, always learning, always seeking a deeper understanding of myself, my fellows, the world we live in, the universe and the One who created it all.

Religion & Spirituality
Religion is man attempting to define God, Spirituality is the individual attempting to let God define him/her. Religions are basically tribal in nature and attempt to divide and segment us into tribal groups, pitting us against each other over completely unproven and unprovable beliefs and dogma about a being who has existed since before time itself and whose plans and intentions are no more comprehensible to us than the plans and intentions of a politician are comprehensible to a new born infant.
Spirituality attempts to find universal truths that unite us as children of God. Spirituality eschews dogma and embraces the individual and their unique relationship with God. The law of love guides the spiritually minded person, never religious dogma.
