πŸ– Founder / Artistic Director of CentreStage Productions amateur theatre troupe (Founded in 2001)

πŸ– Founder / Artistic Director of The StageHands Project (Founded in 2005) - a volunteer humanitarian project which uses theatre for social change and development. It has also formulated theatre-based methods for working with the disabled and teaching English as a 2nd language.

πŸ– University educational background in English, International Relations and Sociology.

πŸ– Was a visiting lecturer at the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo.

πŸ– Involved with over 80 theatrical productions in Sri Lanka and internationally.

πŸ– Associated with The Royal Court Theatre of London, ART of Bangalore, Theatrum Botanicum of Edinburgh, Brave Theatre Festival of Poland, Rikskonsertene of Norway, The British Council, as well as the National School of Drama of India.

πŸ– Acted lead roles in musicals and stage plays, such as 'West Side Story' (Tony) 'Les Miserables' (Jean Valjean) and 'Phantom of the Opera' (Phantom). Also played lead roles at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in two multi-award winning productions by Toby Gough (which brought Kylie Minogue to Sri Lanka and Edinburgh).

πŸ– Acted in movie versions of Salman Rushdie's 'Midnight's Children' (2012) and Shyam Selvadurai's 'Funny Boy' (Netflix 2020), both of which were directed by Academy Award nominated director, Deepa Mehta.

πŸ– I've produced theatre and workshops in Norway, Poland, Scotland, Qatar and India.

πŸ– Directorial credits include Pyramus & Thisby, Reality Show, Rag – The Musical (Featured in the BBC), Stormy Weather and An Inspired Swan Lake (Featured on CNN and BBC). Please Google for articles and reviews.

πŸ– As a playwright, I've been shortlisted 3 times for Sri Lanka's most prestigious literary award, The Gratiaen Prize. I was was also on the panel of judges in 2014.

πŸ– My plays have represented Sri Lanka at international theatre festivals since 2002. Also Asia’s largest arts festival, the Bharat Rang Mahotsav in 2015, 2016 and 2019, as well as the Theatre Olympics in 2018.

πŸ– In 2013, I was presented to the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall for my contribution to theatre. In 2014, I was selected by the British Council to represent Sri Lankan disability arts at the Unlimited Festival in London.
