For over 10 years I was in the hospitality trade working long unsociable hours and making money for rich people. I decided I wanted to be part of this rich people’s club and open my own bistro. Although having my 2 sons whilst in this industry and having my bistro named after my eldest son is the best thing that has ever happened to me, the daily thoughts of having lost my sports career plagued me to a point where the only relief came by further neglecting my health (i.e. alcohol, stress, no exercise & excessive eating).

Unfortunately, after receiving multiple injuries during my fitness career I just accepted my fate to be growing old with out the love and passion of sports in my life. As my physical health and body deteriorated I also found my mental health taking a huge nose dive. It’s really challenging to speak about this so publicly, however I am sharing this journey as I know there will be so many others who are in a dark place as I was and I want to show them there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Now I have turned my life around and enjoying playing sports and exercising again, now I want to show people my secret, I honestly never thought I would play any competitive sport again. If I can do it then anybody can, it really is that simple.
