Jarrett Smith on Clubhouse

Bio

Councilmember Jarrett K. Smith’s interest in politics and community participation is a result of being raised by parents who served the United States with distinguished careers in the military and government. He is the son of an Army major, who was commissioned in 1967 and served 20 years as an Intelligence Officer who was given full Military Burial Honors at Arlington National Cemetery.

Having grown up in various cities all over the US, Jarrett attended Howard University for undergrad and decided to call the DC metropolitan area home. Now a 5th term
Councilmember for the City of Takoma Park, Jarrett is passionate about policy making. In his capacity, he serves on several government and administrative bodies which allows him the ability to interact at all levels of government throughout the state of Maryland as well as all over the US. Jarrett is also a candidate for an Executive MPA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government where his focus area is government relations. Member: Kappa Alpha Psi
