My Teaching Philosophy:
My personal philosophy for teaching culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students is multi-faceted and revolves around the notion that teachers are at the crux of student learning. I believe it is up to me to create an environment for my students where they feel safe, appreciated, and inspired. I think that all students can achieve and that goal setting should be based on individual student growth rather than peer competition. I am a supporter of bettering oneself for CLD students in the classroom through lifelong study of CLD research and professional development on current ESL topics. I believe that the way in which a teacher manages her classroom and her instruction will determine the amount of knowledge her students acquire and retain.
