I’m widely-known champion of the arts, And i’m a passionate advocate for art education that balances theory, research, and practice. Practicing visual artist and active researcher.

I love find balance each morning by mountain biking and it keeps me emotionally and physically healthy.

With more than 29 years of teaching experience. I have served as reviewer for the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities as well as the National Endowment for the Arts. I currently serve on the board of directors for the Springville Museum and Art and the Utah cultural alliance providing guidance on community outreach and educational initiatives.

I strive to be an innovative educator, practicing artist, and advocate for the arts. Served on the National Art Education Association Board of Directors twice, as a Vice President and as the Secondary Division Director. I am a Fulbright Memorial Scholar, a Teachers Institute of Contemporary Art Fellow, and an Art21 Fellow. Recently awarded National art education Association’s top honor as the Art Educator of the Year 2021.
