Jameel is lawmaker, operations and management expert experienced in providing expert management, legislative with over 30 years of experience. Jameel has served in high level government, and corporate sector in key decisions that has shaped the Maldives.

Jameel was the elected Member of Parliament (the People's Majlis) from 2014 to 2019 representing the beloved citizens of the Gemanafushi Constituency of Maldives. Serving at the highest level of the legislative branch of the Maldivian state,

Jameel served as Majority Chief Whip of the Maldives Parliament (2014-2019) and Senator of the Progressive Party of Maldives. Jameel serves as Chairman of the charitable registered organization the Jameel Foundation

Jameel has won recognition and awards such as International Award in Korea Scout Association, the APR Scouts Gold Membership Award in Asia Pacific Regional Scout Foundation, Africa Scouts Bronze Award in Africa Scout Foundation, Global Youth Leadership Award in Global Youth Parliament, Outstanding Achievers Award in International Icon Awards 2022 IEO & SPACE, International Award, International Union of Universities and the Customize award in international business, London School of Commerce & SQA - Scottish Qualifications Authority.

Jameel is academically qualified with Masters of Business Administration from the University of Bedfordshire, United Kingdom and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
