Your crazy life workaholic art dealer here!! #nevernotworking
I own Joseph Gross Gallery which is no longer a brick and mortar business. In the current state of the art market with everyone having direct access to artist and the price of real estate in the areas I would want to be in the gallery business model just is not what I need anymore. Also it is not as profitable as it used to be for a middle tier gallery such as myself. For now I’m not doing any shows, but in 2022 I will start doing Domestic and International pop up shows in all the hot markets just for the love of curating. Plus pop ups is how I got my start doing one night Fashion, Art, and Music (F.A.M.) shows at 111 Minna in Sf and Club 6. I would curate a art show, bring in a fashion element and book out music talent from Dj’s to headlining acts. After gaining a following and collector base I decided to open my first gallery. Here’s a little list of my brick and mortar galleries and their life spans.
