IUM majored in sculpture at Hongik University's Department of Sculpture and the same graduate school, and later became a performance artist who became a 'living sculpture'.
She has held 8 solo exhibitions in Korea, Japan, China, home and abroad, as well as 100 group exhibitions and performances, and her major collectors are the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Ssamzie Art Collection, and Koreana Art Museum.
