Dekarian “ Killa D “ Ashley
Dekarian Ashley was born in Northwest Louisiana by way of Shreveport and Minden. He began his musical journey at the age of 12, where he started writing his own music using only a karaoke machine and a single microphone. Growing up he has had musical influences from Louisiana’s own Lil Boosie,Webbie, and Lil Wayne, West Coast’s own Tupac Shakur, Texas artists such as UGK and a host of many others. Growing up in Louisiana in the midst of violence and personal tragedies music became his safe haven and also apart of how he expresses himself. In 2009 Dekarian relocated to Houston Texas, where shortly after he completed college for Automotive Technology where his grandfather was his mentor/teacher. While still working automotive jobs Killa D stepped out on the scene in Houston as an artist attending various networking and artists spotlight shows. Over the last ten years Killa D has met an array of industry professionals such as DJ’s, Producers, Videographers and a list of various artists all over the United States. He has performed at events such as SXSW which is a huge Texas event that kicks off every spring in Austin to give entertainers in various categories a stage to present their craft. He has been nominated and award Artist of the year in Houston and a few other cities as well. Dekarian always has wanted a platform to share his story for other young individuals to know there are options other than just “the streets”. Since 2014 he has released an array of singles which have allowed him to be in over 5 different markets all over the globe. He has hits ranging from “Don’t be Afraid”(Wurk!) feat TheazyStaccs, “Bout Dat” feat Jus Kno Mac to most recently “Pop It” feat Luizana Cash and 9th Ward Judy. He will be closing out 2020 as an arstist for LoudFestHTx feat MixxGang Dj’s own DJ CrowdPleaser in the mix. Be on the lookout for a lot more projects such as Movies, documentaries, and most definently more music starting 2021.
