Anthony, or ‘Huggy’ as most people in basketball world know him, is one of the most influential people in the Canadian basketball scene who quietly orchestrates significant moves among players, coaches, and administrators within organizations ranging from Basketball Canada, the NBA, the NCAA and various youth development basketball clubs. Huggy was the co-founder of Grassroots Canada Elite Basketball with Ro Russell then went on to work with Dwayne Washington to establish Uplay Canada and most recently behind the scenes to establish My Brother and Sister’s Keeper Youth Organizations. Huggy has worked to solidify Adidas and Nike’s investment among these three Canadian AAU clubs and supports the clubs with business development, fundraising and event management.
Beyond his work helping 500+ student athletes earn scholarships in the NCAA/NJCAA/NAIA & CIS, Huggy has worked tirelessly with inner city ‘at risk’ kids throughout Toronto to big brother, father(figure) inspire and mentor them. Huggy has eleven Grassroots Elite & Uplay Canada alumni who play or have played in the NBA including Corey Joseph and Tristan Thompson who played on two separate NBA championship teams.
Most recently Huggy has gone on to establish Triple 7 Sports which is a full service sports agency based out of Miami.
