Georges Schnyder, 59, executive director of Mundo MESA, nucleus of intelligence in gastronomy, and of Prazeres da Mesa magazine, is responsible for the institutional and new business areas.

Production engineer from Escola de Engenharia Mauá and postgraduated in marketing and finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas with a long experience in the food industry.

In 2000, he started to be recognized as an exponent of the Sustainable Development area, with the pioneering project for the management and industrialization of açaí pulp and heart of palms on Marajó Island, involving riverside communities.

The sustainability model, called ARCO, created by Georges has been successfully implemented in numerous projects, including communities impacted by the Coari-Manaus gas pipeline in Amazonas.

Georges received several awards and became a reference in the field. He participates intensively in institutional articulations in the protection and sustainable development of food production chains.

Georges is member of the board and the executive committee of the international Slow Food movement, president of the Slow Food Association of Brazil, founding partner of Instituto ATÁ, promoter of structured chains of traditional and small-scale products, and advisor to NGO Gastromotiva, a world benchmark in social inclusion through training in gastronomy.

Georges believes in sharing knowledge and experiences and a better future for the planet through the struggle for good, clean and fair food for everyone.
