Professor of Functional Genomics in Sydney.
Immunologist by training but neuroscientist for the last ~20 years.
Specialize in CRISPR genome editing to identify genes important in biology and disease.
Some focus on chronic pain biology and using new genome editing and stem cell technologies as therapies.
More recent interest in synthetic biology. In all cases we use Darwinian selection to teach us the answer to our research questions.
We have published in Science and Cell. Myself and my teams work has been covered by CNN, BBC, the Guardian, Science, Nature, Scientific American, Mother Jones, Vice, Elle, and Readers Digest!
