Living this life as an adventurer and explorer in the human energy field for over 40 years, my first psychedelic experience was twirling and tasting the colors at a Grateful Dead show. Trained as a many-modalities bodyworker, acupuncturist, conscious breathworker, I visited the Great Pyramid, celebrated Burning Man on Baker Beach, met the Dalai Lama, and experienced an ayahuasca journey by my 30th birthday. Compassion and community has been my guiding star, providing loving touch as a bodyworker in San Francisco and Philadelphia for people with AIDS and other life threatening illnesses; often easing a transition from this life. Teaching bodywork, business and medical ethics for a national massage school. an M.Ed., and teaching English and history in Philly and Baltimore, I reconnected with the transformative power of entheogenic substances as a participant in the Johns Hopkins Psilocybin Cancer Study 2013.

The cancer experience was filled with surgeries, chemo, and radiation. I experienced fear and trauma, PTSD, lingering chemo-brain and many physical side effects. But I am much better because that experience happened. I learned we don’t get a medal for suffering, and that I would only get better when I surrendered to the transformation.

I wouldn’t want what I went through to happen to anyone, but I would want the change I experienced to happen to everyone.
