I have personally come to realize that self-care is not selfish and safe patient care is in jeopardy when we don’t prioritize our own care FIRST.

I also believe that the patients’ experience of care cannot improve or be sustained in the absence of sincere gratitude, acknowledgment and appreciation for those closest to the bedside.

A simple, genuine and timely “thank you” goes a long way...
