US–based security expert and philanthropist, Godday Idahosa, has announced that he will be running for the governor of Edo State in the 2024 election.

Born and raised in Iruekpen, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, Idahosa has always been passionate about serving his community and bringing positive change to the lives of the people.

Boasting a strong educational background, Idahosa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Benin and second degree in Criminal Law & Justice from DeVry University, USA. According to him, these qualifications have equipped him with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively govern and lead Edo State in 2024. Idahosa’s political career took a shot up in 2020 when he collapsed his Accord Party structure into People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and campaigned vigorously for the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki. He later rose through the ranks in the party, gaining recognition for his dedication, integrity and commitment to the welfare of the people of Edo State.

“I am a focused and intentional leader. I am bringing a refreshing change and a breath of fresh air to Edo State,” he said.
