Testimonies

I have been able to talk to dozens of survivors of the #WeaponizedRape on the phone. Everyone of them has a heart-wrenching story. However, the stories of two women will remain with me forever. Both were gang-raped by Eritrean troops for 17 hours non-stop (5 pm Dec 28 - 10 am Dec 29). Then, the troops burned genitals of the two women with hot metalic rods. As if these cruelties were less, the troops inserted 5 metalic wires into the uterus of one of the survivors. She is a mom of 3 (2 months, 5 yrs, and 9 yrs old at the time of the gang rape). She couldn't get a medical help for months. Finally, the wires were removed with a surgery and she is now partially paralysed and unable to breastfeed her baby.

I have many more testimonies to tell. At least I can be a voice for my voiceless mothers and sisters in Tigray.
