I created Working Lives Matter for two reasons. First reason, because during several visits to clients homes, I would see many small projects, that could be simply done by the homeowner, with a simple screwdriver.

Many of my clients were willing to do the work, but lacked the confidence and knowledge. Many times the lack of proper tool usages, kept them from following thru on simple small home projects.

Second reason, one day doing a small home project, my client had three minority teenage sons, who was very willing and eager to help me out. I began to ask them, to hand me basic hand tools out my tool bag, and neither one of them had no clue what I was asking for? At that moment I realize that many youth are willing to help themselves, but it’s not many of us out there teaching them how to help themselves.
