Bio

Gary was inspired to found Thrive Media after witnessing the positive impact of our expert’s teachings on his family and his marriage. After owning a successful production company in South Africa, Gary immigrated to Canada and founded Barbershop Films in 2002. As a Director, DOP and Editor, he has produced hundreds of short films for various clients worldwide, including the opening ceremonies video for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. Gary is not only a filmmaker but also a qualified counsellor and Somatic experience practitioner. Gary’s new company Thrive Media merges these two disciplines to capture the unfolding of human stories that not only touch lives but have the potential to change them. His recent film ‘SKIDS’ was nominated for a 2020 Rockie award and three Leo awards.
