Fritzi Horstman is the Founder and Executive Director of the Compassion Prison Project an organization dedicated to transforming prisons and communities with compassionate action.

She directed “Step Inside the Circle,” at California State Prison – Los Angeles County with 235 incarcerated men after piloting her trauma awareness program with 30 incarcerated men living at Kern Valley State Prison for over a year and learning about the extent of their childhood trauma.   

She produced HBO’s “The Defiant Ones” directed by Allen Hughes which has garnered several awards including Grammy for Best Music Film.

Her podcast “Compassion in Action” interviews trauma experts, leaders and influencers who are bringing compassion to their fields including Gabor Maté, Vincent Felitti and Thomas Hübl.
