Indigenous female member of the Ihanktonwan Oyate (Yankton Sioux) of South Dakota. I am a wire artist/Jeweler- I create copper wire sculptures and wearable art and jewelry.
I am an active Dakota Language Learner, earnestly working to carry on the words of my ancestors for generations to come.
I grew up in the Oregon Foster Care system in the 80’s/90’s, actively prevented from connecting to family and roots.
Now I’m actively working to repair the damage that resulted.
I’m a proud mother of two adult children and three grandchildren.
I studied Psychology, Special Education and Conflict Resolution in University. I have spent the last 20 years working directly with adults who experience Intellectual/Developmental Disorders.
I work a lot. If im on CH that probably means that I’m also at work and am not able to speak.
I often prefer to just hang in a room and quietly share space with my mic off, while performing my day to day job duties.
I share a home with my Beloved partner of several years, and our two furred friends.
