Fernando Ferro is a Writer/ Producer from Caracas, Venezuela.He began his career by producing international soap operas for the Venezuelan production company, Venevision. After becoming general producer at the age of 24, at Venevision, he then sought after new challenges, moving on to collaborating with Native Films and directing national campaigns for Yum! Brands. Fernando, a journalism student while in college, couldn’t shake his desire to bring informational programming stories to the television screen. He created a primetime political satire commentary program for Mira T.V, The Rick Sanchez Show, which lasted on the air for over three years. He then developed a travel show for the Dance Network titled “Traveling Dancer”. That was Fernando’s first taste of the general market. In 2019 Fernando wrote, produced, and directed his directorial debut, a film titled “The Big Feed”. A satirical
horror set on the backdrop of the Hollywood Hills, the film is set to debut on VOD platforms winter of 2020. In late 2019, Fernando served as Vice President of Content Strategy for the film financing and production company, Foton Pictures. Since his arrival, Foton has successfully produced three films in 2019 & 2020. “Pink Skies Ahead”, starring Jessica Barden and Marcia Gay Harding was set to debut in SXSW festival this year. The other films, “Echoboomers”, starring Alex Pettyfer, Michael Shannon, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, and “The Birthday Cake”, starring Ewan MacGregor, Val Kilmer, Ashley Benson, Penn Badgley, and Shiloh Fernandez, are due to be released towards the end of 2020, beginning of 2021.
