For some people, there are specific days in time that change the overall trajectory of their life. For Chicago bred rapper Exclusive, that day was September 13th, 1996: the day legendary rapper Tupac Shakur died.Though he counts luminaries such as Barack Obama, Jay-Z and 50 Cent as influences, it was 2Pac that left a lasting impression on him and made him want to devote his career and life to making music that he describes as “soulful” and an “exclusive experience” for listeners. A lifelong fan of music, the artist later to be known as Exclusive first began putting words together for fun while in elementary school and continued to do so while a student at Argo Community High School on Chicago’s southwest side. While coming up with an emcee name that described his personality, he decided on the moniker of “Exclusive” after landing on the word in the dictionary and decided by definition, it was the word that suited him and his approach to the game best. No stranger to the grind, thus far Exclusive has dropped 5 EP’s and explains that his love for creating and performing is the fuel that keeps him motivated. “Making music and getting on stage to perform it is my main form of expression. I love making people feel. I think people understand me better when they catch the vibe of my music. I love being on stage and receiving the energy from the crowd. I appreciate the love and always make sure I’m giving 100%”
