I help classical musicians and pianists move from frozen to flowing in the shed, on the stage, and in the studio. I focus on helping them overcome stage fright by making music in the moment. I support them in reclaiming their roots in improvisation to reconnect with the joy of live performance.

Despite starting piano lessons as a nearsighted 4-year-old with performance anxiety, I have connected with my love of music through improvisation. I also direct ensembles to play off the page using a vocabulary of conducting signs and gestures for real-time composition.

As a performer, I have been fortunate enough to play at music venues in New York and Denver such as Dazzle, Roulette and the Stone, and have shared the stage with Carla Bley, Anthony Braxton, Robin Eubanks, Fred Frith, Matt Wilson and others.

I’ve led master classes and workshops at the New School, MSU Denver, the University of Indiana, the Royal Academy of Music in London, but wherever I go, I am passionate about transforming the face of global education by empowering teachers to equip their students to fully express their creativity.
