The mission of the Service Espace public, fêtes et marchés is to coordinate the planning, development, equipment and occupation of the public space and to organize or accompany the organization of events in the public space in the territory of the City of Luxembourg.

Over a year, the Service Espace public, fêtes et marches deals with nearly 2,000 requests to hold events or use public spaces, and organises Luxembourg Schueberfouer, Winterlights Christmas Markets and Animations, Mäertchen, Éimaischen, National Day festivities, Kinnekswiss loves..., Blues’n Jazz Rallye, Concerts de Midi, Kino um Glacis, district funfairs, various markets (Stater Maart, Garer Maart, Bouneweger Maart, Glacismaart), fleamarkets, vide-grenier, and more...

In terms of the design and planning of public spaces, the department is involved in more than 60 projects - from leading to assisting - organizes and guides citizen participation projects and participates in various working groups.
