Acting often as an internal and external focal point for the relationship between maritime technology and regulation, with a remit to advance mutual understanding between stakeholders in both areas.

Special interest in ship management and operating technology, including energy efficiency, bridge operations, navigation and autonomous ships. Member of ABB’s intelligent ship and digitalisation group and its steering committee.

Representative to an array of national, EU and global maritime agencies and NGOs. ABB delegate to: Sea Europe; the Waterborne Technology Platform; the IMO Green Voyage 2050 Global Industry Alliance; and others. Chairman of One Sea, the industry alliance on autonomous ships.
